Floating Photovoltaic (FPV) systems are playing an increasingly significant role in global decarbonization and clean energy initiatives. As the adoption of solar energy continues to grow, the operation and maintenance of FPV systems have become critical, especially for large-scale applications. This underscores the need for a deeper understanding of module and system failure, particularly those related to environmental factors such as humidity, to guide the design and manufacturing processes. Unlike land-based PV systems, FPV systems include additional components such as floating modules, mounting system, pontoons, and underwater cables, which introduce unique challenges and potential failure points. However, due to the limited number of organizations with extensive operational experience in FPV systems, there is a lack of comprehensive knowledge during operating and maintenance regarding potential failures and effective solutions. This paper aims to provide insights into failures in FPV systems in a field and discuss preventive diagnosis and solutions to address these challenges.
