Since the Gyeongju (2016, M5.8) and Pohang (2017, M5.4) earthquakes, public interest in earthquakes has increased, and the frequency of earthquakes above magnitude 3.0 has been steadily rising (KMA, 2025). As a result, ensuring the seismic performance of public facili仕es has become a critical issue. The weirs managed by K-water have similar structures and functions to dams but are not included in the ㅡmanagement scope of the “Earthquake and Volcanic Disaster Countermeasure Act, ” leading to a lack of clear standards for the installation and operation of seismographs. Currently, seismographs are installed based on the standards for other facilities, and issues such as aging and deterioration of measurement data quality are arising. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the current status of seismograph installation and operation at the weirs and establish guidelines to improve data reliability and maintenance management.
