Extreme weather events such as severe floods and typhoons due to recent climate anomalies pose significant threats to dam safety management. In particular, the aging rate of dams in Korea is significantly higher compared to other major facilities, and it is expected to increase rapidly over time. Consequently, a systematic approach to dam integrity assessment is urgently needed. This study introduces cases where electrical resistivity surveys, widely used in dam investigations, have been applied. The 2D and 3D electrical resistivity survey results applied to two dams provided crucial information on leakage and weak zones, which are vital for assessing dam health Assessment. However, since electrical resistivity surveys are relative and indirect depending on the region, more detailed conclusions require comparative analysis with data from embedded instrumentation and drilling investigations in the dam body.
