Geosmin showed better adsorption than MIB on GAC in the presence of NOM? NOM in water significantly decreased the adsorption capacity of GAC for 2-MIBremoval. Ozone pretreatment reduced the NOM influence for 2-MIB removal usingGAC adsorption.? Two typo of GAC (RO 0.8 and F-400) observed similar adsorption capacity forremoval of 2-MIB and geosmin.? After ozonation, the aromaticity was significantly decreased while the molecularweight was not much affected. Aromaticity decreased due to oxidation of thefunctional groups of NOM? Consequently, reducing the competitive NOM’s hydrophobicity led to an increasedremoval of 2-MIB by GAC adsorption. |
