Water supply system of the Han River basin shows various different results in associated with flow distributions. As the return period is longer, the water supply severity happens greatly, but strength of water deficit shows a decreasing pattern.So to speak, the increasing trend of water deficit is decreased rapidly when the return period is longer. If drought duration is prolonged and return period is longer, water deficit severity tendency showed close to straight line. This study provided the curve and formula estimating the future water deficit that return period was used by variable in the Han River water supply system under the condition of 2011-year water demand. By using them, the future water deficit can be predicted for long and short term drought events in the Han river basin. It can be evaluated as a new concept of interpretation of drought effects.
