Water Safety
As the risks and uncertainties increase in field of water management due the climate change crisis, K-water is strengthening its digital water management capabilities. Through the establishment of the digital twin management platform and convergence of existing water management technologies, K-water aims to overcome the limitations of the current water management system.
- Establishment of the Digital Twin Water Management Platform: By converting information in real-time into 3D models, real world and virtual world data can be synchronized to create a virtual-physical connection system that will enhance the monitoring and simulation capabilities of K-water which is essential for decision-making.
- Real-time sluice data monitoring
- Flood simulation
- Drought information display
- Actualization of the climate crisis
- During the era in which the climate crisis has become the new normal: Earth’s average temperature has risen by 1℃ over the last 133 years (from 1880 to 2012)
- Increase in the frequency of water disasters due to abnormal weather pattern changes: In 2020, the longest rainy season in Korea
- Digitalizing water management technologies
- Real World - Virtual World
