As global demand for clean hydrogen continues to grow in pursuit of carbon neutrality, the focus has primarily been placed on improving hydrogen production efficiency and reducing costs associated with electrolysis. However, a significant portion of the potential energy and material value generated in the hydrogen production process remains untapped. In particular, byproducts such as high-purity oxygen (O₂), waste heat, and process water from electrolysis are typically neglected in current system designs, despite their potential for meaningful resource recovery. This study proposes a comprehensive framework for the valorization and integration of these byproducts into green hydrogen production systems, with the aim of enhancing system-wide energy efficiency, circularity, and environmental sustainability. |
