From October 5 to 9, the International Conference on Water Supply and Wastewater Management in Central Asia was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, hosted by the World Bank. The conference brought together key stakeholders from across the region to discuss innovative solutions and partnerships in the water sector.
During the event, K-water led the Smart Water Management session, where advanced technologies such as the AI-WTP (Artificial Intelligence-based Water Treatment Plant) and the Smart Water Network Management (SWNM) system were introduced. In the Developing Sector Skills session, K-water shared insights into its internal training system, K-professional, as well as international education and consulting programs. The session also included proposals for expanding a global training platform based on experiences in Uzbekistan and Central Asia.
The conference served as a valuable platform for engaging with multilateral development banks (MDBs), strengthening collaboration with Uzbekistan’s national water utility, Uzsuvtaminot, and exploring future cooperation with water-related ministries in Central Asian countries, including Kyrgyzstan. Meetings were also held with the Presidential Office of Uzbekistan and senior officials from key institutions, deepening strategic relationships in the region.
