From November 22 to December 3, 2025, K-water Academy successfully completed the second batch of the Training on Smart Water Management Options for the city of Rawalpindi, Pakistan. This program is part of the ongoing technical assistance (TA) project in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and follows the successful delivery of the first batch held in September.
This second batch brought together 11 participants—10 officials from PICIIP, PWASA, and R-WASA, along with 1 representative from ADB Pakistan—further expanding the group of professionals benefiting from this capacity-building initiative. Building on the needs identified during the on-site assessment earlier in the year, K-water Academy once again provided a customized and practice-oriented curriculum that combined theoretical sessions, case studies, hands-on exercises, and field visits.
Participants explored K-water’s advanced smart water network management systems, strategies for reducing non-revenue water (NRW), and practical methods for pipeline network management and leakage detection. Interactive workshops with K-water experts facilitated meaningful exchanges on sector challenges and potential avenues for future cooperation.
The completion of the second batch marks another significant milestone in strengthening technical and managerial capacity for urban water management in Rawalpindi. It also reinforces the growing partnership between Korea and Pakistan in the field of smart water solutions. K-water Academy remains committed to promoting global water sustainability through continued international collaboration and knowledge sharing.
